Orange Day was conceived by citrus farmers in Ehime Prefecture in 1994 and established as a day of commemoration by the Ehime Prefectural Headquarters of the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives (JA-Zenno-Ehime) in 2009.
Orange Day” is a day to give oranges (mandarin oranges) and orange-colored items to loved ones on April 14 to deepen love and bonding.
The date was chosen to coincide with “Valentine's Day” on February 14 and “White Day” on March 14, and was one month .
オレンジデーは、1994年に愛媛県の柑橘農家さんが発案して、2009年に全国農業協同組合連合会愛媛県本部（JA全農えひめ）により記念日として制定されました。
4月14日、大切な人とオレンジ（みかん）やオレンジ色のものを贈り合い、愛と絆を深めようという日が『オレンジデー』なんです。
日付は、2月14日の「バレンタインデー」、3月14日の「ホワイトデー」と合わせて1ヵ月後の4月14日としたのが由来。
